The Fraser Ramblers will face off against the Chippewa Valley Big Reds at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
On Friday, Fraser was able to grind out a solid win over Port Huron Northern, taking the game 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Ramblers.
The team relied heavily on Jack Manzella, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Camden Townsend, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
Meanwhile, Chippewa Valley entered their tilt with Romeo on Thursday with four consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with five. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Bulldogs.
Landon Simpson tossed a big game, pitching 6.1 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Alex Hall was excellent, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Sadowski, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.
Chippewa Valley pushed their record up to 14-7-1 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Fraser, the victory got them back to even at 11-11.
