The Red Mountain Mountain Lions entered their tilt with the Skyline Coyotes with three consecutive wins  but they'll enter their next game with four. Red Mountain enjoyed a cozy  54-39 victory over Skyline on Thursday. Given Red Mountain's advantage  in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings  (they are ranked 49th, while Skyline is ranked 138th), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
 Red Mountain was led to victory by  Makaia Jenkins and  Payton Westra.  Jenkins  scored 16 points along with two  steals, while  Westra  scored 15 points along with nine  rebounds and five  steals. That's the first time this season that  Westra  scored 15 or more  points. Another player making a difference was  Macy Johnson, who  scored seven points along with two  steals.
 Red Mountain has  been performing  well recently as they've  won seven of their last nine contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Skyline, they now  have a losing record at 12-13.
 Red Mountain will be playing in front of their home fans against Mesa at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Mesa is looking to tack on another W to their three-game streak on the road. As for Skyline, they will  square off against Westwood at 7:00  p.m.  on Friday. Westwood is coming into the  contest on a four-game losing streak.
