Mentor took their game at home on Friday with ease, bagging a 48-12 victory over Euclid. Considering Mentor has won four matchups by more than 35 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mentor to victory, but perhaps none more so than Scotty Fox, who threw for 217 yards and four touchdowns while completing 78.9% of his passes. Gino Korzunowski was another key contributor, rushing for 108 yards and a touchdown on only six carries.
Mentor's victory was their fourth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.8 points per game. As for Euclid, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-10.
Mentor will be playing at home against St. Ignatius at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Ohio (St. Ignatius is ranked 71st, while Mentor is ranked 88th). As for Euclid, they will head out on the road to face off against Cleveland Heights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Cleveland Heights' favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last five matches.
