West hasn't had much luck against Maryville recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Rebels will square off against the Red Rebels at 6:30 p.m. West is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.

West proved they can win big on Saturday (they won by nine) and on Tuesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over Heritage. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Rebels have posted against the Mountaineers since April 12, 2021.

Isaac Hunter looked comfortable as he struck out six batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits (and only one walk). He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances.

Meanwhile, Maryville lost 14-4 to Farragut on Tuesday. The Red Rebels have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

West has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.0 runs over those games. As for Maryville, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.

West suffered a grim 12-1 defeat to Maryville in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Rebels avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
