Marsing hasn't had much luck against Payette recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Huskies are packing up and heading out on the road for their first away game of the season: they will take on the Pirates at 5:00 p.m. Payette took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Marsing, who comes in off a win.
In Monday's Canine Competition, Marsing prevailed. They put the hurt on Nyssa with a sharp 7-1 victory on Monday. The win continues a trend for the Huskies in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won five in a row.
Marcos Gonzalez and Heston McIntyre were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Gonzalez pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Meanwhile, McIntyre tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. At bat, Gonzalez went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double, while McIntyre went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those two hits gave McIntyre a new career-high.

Meanwhile, Payette didn't have quite enough to beat South Fremont on Saturday and fell 15-13.
Payette now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Marsing, their record is now 3-0.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Marsing has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Payette struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.7 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Marsing couldn't quite finish off Payette in their previous meeting back in March of 2025 and fell 6-4. Can the Huskies avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
