The Sayre Spartans extended their postseason success on Friday against the Paris Greyhounds. They blew past the Greyhounds 38-12. The victory was just business as usual for Sayre, who after 12 games remain undefeated this season.
Sayre's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Pennington, who threw for 253 yards and five touchdowns. Pennington has been hot recently, having posted three or more passing touchdowns the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Brock Coffman, who picked up 100 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Sayre's victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. As for Paris, their loss dropped their record down to 10-2.
Sayre has the luxury of staying home another week and will welcome Raceland at 7:30 p.m. on November 17th. Raceland is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. Paris does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
