The Nebraska City Pioneers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Thursday after their third straight defeat. Their rough 64-39 loss to Plattsmouth might stick with them for a while. Nebraska City has not had much luck with the Blue Devils recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Despite the loss, Nebraska City still got an impressive performance from Kalan Fritch, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Daniel Adanza, who scored seven points.
Gage Olsen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Plattsmouth, scoring 15 points along with six assists and five rebounds. Traceson Skalberg was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with four steals.
Nebraska City has been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 11 matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-13 record this season. As for Plattsmouth, their win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Nebraska City is on the road again on Monday and plays the Trojans at 7:30 p.m. on January 29th. Platteview presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Pioneers in Nebraska (the Trojans are ranked 51st, while the Pioneers are ranked 231st). As for Plattsmouth, they will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Nebraska City focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 19 on Monday.
