The Innovation Montessori Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Orlando Science Orcas at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Innovation Montessori focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 36 on Tuesday.
Innovation Montessori kicked off their season on the road and hit a couple of potholes. They were dealt a 61-29 defeat at the hands of Tavares.
Owen Lofiego was Innovation Montessori's leading scorer, having posted eight points. Lofiego also led the team in assists with three. Lofiego held things down on the boards with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, it may have taken overtime to finish the job, but Orlando Science ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They managed a 44-39 victory over Eastland Christian. The win was just what Orlando Science needed coming off of a 73-30 defeat in their prior match.
Orlando Science's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Glen Wickersham, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals. Kenneth Reyes was another key contributor, scoring 10 points along with 8 rebounds.
Innovation Montessori's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Orlando Science, their victory bumped their record up to 1-2.
