This season hasn't been kind to the Fruitdale Pirates, who are still winless after their sixth matchup. They had to suffer through a rough 77-17 loss at the hands of Jackson. While losing is never fun, Fruitdale can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 417th, while Jackson is ranked 159th).
Jackson's win on Tuesday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Micah Caster, who scored 12 points along with five assists and five steals. Those five steals set a new season-high mark for Caster. The team also got some help courtesy of Keeyun Chapman, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds.
Fruitdale bumped their record down to 0-6 with that defeat, which was their 12th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Jackson, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-1.
Fruitdale's road trip will continue as they head out to face Washington County at 6:30 p.m. on December 14th. Washington County is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. Jackson and W.S. Neal will face off at 4:00 p.m. on December 15th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
