This season hasn't been kind to the Prince Avenue Christian Wolverines, who are still winless after their fifth match. They took a 66-53 hit to the loss column at the hands of West-Oak on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Prince Avenue Christian can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 374th in Georgia, while West-Oak is ranked 60th in South Carolina).
West-Oak got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Zoe Sheriff out in front who scored 14 points along with 6 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joey Burgess, who scored 19 points.
Prince Avenue Christian bumped their record down to 0-5 with that loss, which was their third straight at home. As for West-Oak, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prince Avenue Christian will play host again and welcome Oconee County, where tip off is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for West-Oak, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pickens at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Pickens focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 14 on Tuesday.
