New Washington was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Southwestern apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.
Ashley Fulton was her usual excellent self, scoring 18 points along with 5 assists and 5 rebounds for Southwestern. That makes it two consecutive games in which Fulton has scored at least 25% of Southwestern's points. Chloey Leach was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
New Washington has been struggling recently, as they've lost six of their last seven games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Southwestern, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. New Washington will take on Jac-Cen-Del at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Jac-Cen-Del presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than New Washington in Indiana (Jac-Cen-Del is ranked 96th, while New Washington is ranked 241st). As for Southwestern, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Central at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. South Central is hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses.
