The Richmond Bobcats will take on the Telstar Rebels at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Richmond is coming into the contest on a five-game losing streak.
Richmond made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Sacopee Valley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. The Bobcats fell just short of the Hawks by a score of 9-7 on Wednesday. Surprisingly, this marked the fifth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor in this series.
Meanwhile, Telstar made easy work of Upper Kennebec Valley on Thursday and carried off a 14-4 win. The Rebels might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five games by ten runs or more this season.
Quinn Coolidge made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off seven hits (and not a single walk). She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
In other batting news, Cadie Campbell and Brooklyn Deprey did most of the damage at the plate: Campbell went 2-for-3 with three runs, two RBI, and one double, while Deprey got on base in two of her four plate appearances with two stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs. Those two stolen bases gave Deprey a new career-high. Taejyah Lego was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
Telstar always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Upper Kennebec Valley only posted an OBP of .320.
The victory made it two in a row for Telstar and bumps their season record up to 10-4. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 16.5 runs over those games. As for Richmond, their loss dropped their record down to 4-8.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Richmond has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .453. However, it's not like Telstar struggles in that department as they've averaged .516. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Richmond skirted past Telstar 11-9 in their previous matchup back in May of 2025. Do the Bobcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rebels turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
