The Horizon Hawks can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 28-13 win over Windermere. The win was just what Horizon needed coming off of a 56-0 defeat in their prior contest.
Jamarie Pierre got back to being his usual excellent self, as he rushed for 287 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Pierre's longest rush was for an incredible 80 yards. Brandon Cruz got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Windermere to a paltry 209 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Horizon's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out seven times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Vinci Armas and his two sacks.
Horizon's win bumped their record up to 5-5. As for Windermere, their loss was their fifth straight at home , which bumped their record down to 3-7.
Horizon does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Windermere also has no future games currently scheduled.
