Gering and Chadron are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2021, but not for long. The Gering Bulldogs will take on the Chadron Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gering is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
Last Saturday, Gering came up short against Scottsbluff and fell 45-34.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Makenzie Todd, who scored 12 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Neveah Hrasky was another key contributor, scoring 14 points.
Chadron posted their biggest win yet this season on Monday. They were the clear victor by a 48-27 margin over Alliance. The win was just what Chadron needed coming off of a 46-21 loss in their prior match.
Gering has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-11 record this season. As for Chadron, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-7 record this season.
Gering beat Chadron 59-51 in their previous meeting on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gering since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
