Basketball Game Preview: St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints vs. Benedictine Cadets

The St. Stephen's & St. Agnes Saints will square off against the Benedictine Cadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with St. Stephen's & St. Agnes sitting on four straight victories and Benedictine on three.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They came out on top against Fairfax Christian by a score of 85-77 on Monday.

Riley Jacobs was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten boards. Jacobs is crushing it when it comes to boards: he's pulled down at least ten every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Burgdolf, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 19 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Benedictine didn't have too much trouble with Collegiate on Tuesday as they won 53-37. The 53-point effort marked the Cadets' lowest-scoring matchup of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

St. Stephen's & St. Agnes' win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Benedictine, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.
