The Parrish Community Bulls's road trip will continue as they head out to face the North Port Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Parrish Community pushed their score all the way to 61 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 83-61 walloping at the hands of Sarasota. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat Parrish Community has suffered since December 15, 2023.
Despite the defeat, Parrish Community saw an underclassman step up: Jayna Bowen scored 20 points along with three steals. That's the first time this season that Bowen scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Sarah Decker, who scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
North Port won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Monday. They took a serious blow against Venice, falling 76-28. North Port was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 45-21.
Parrish Community's defeat ended a eight-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-6. As for North Port, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-12.
Parrish Community took their victory against North Port when the teams last played back in December of 2023 by a conclusive 69-44. The rematch might be a little tougher for Parrish Community since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
