Shasta is 8-2 against Enterprise since October of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Thursday. The Shasta Wolves will be playing in front of their home fans against the Enterprise Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Enterprise took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Shasta, who comes in off a win.
Last Friday, Shasta had just enough and edged Red Bluff out 17-14. The victory was just what Shasta needed coming off of a 49-21 loss in their prior game.
Shasta's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Owen Boesiger led the charge by picking up 136 receiving yards and a touchdown. Boesiger's longest reception was for an incredible 73 yards. Justin Polley was another key contributor, rushing for 67 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Meanwhile, Enterprise's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 35-7 loss at the hands of Chico. While losing is never fun, Enterprise can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 381st, while Chico is ranked 137th).
Shasta's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Enterprise, their loss dropped their record down to 4-6.
Shasta was able to grind out a solid victory over Enterprise in their previous matchup back in October, winning 27-20. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Enterprise's JJ Johnson, who rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns on only 14 carries. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Shasta still be able to contain him? There's only one way to find out.
