On Friday, The Riesel Indians never let their opponents score. They came out on top against Crawford by a score of 13-0. The win made it back-to-back wins for Riesel.
Riesel was led to victory by Grayson Oliver and Gavin Oliver. Oliver rushed for 83 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, while Oliver rushed for 135 yards and a touchdown.
Another reason for the win was Riesel's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for four sacks. The heavy lifting was done by Cameron Phillips and Aydrik Degrate who racked up four sacks between them.
Riesel's victory bumped their record up to 8-1. As for Crawford, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
Riesel will head out on the road to face off against Bosqueville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bosqueville is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. As for Crawford, they will be playing at home against Bruceville-Eddy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bruceville-Eddy comes in on a streak of failing to score more than seven points in their last three games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
