The El Camino Wildcats lost against the Torrey Pines Falcons back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. El Camino took a hard 64-45 fall against Torrey Pines. While losing is never fun, El Camino can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 151st, while Torrey Pines is ranked 40th).
Dylan Kail continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Torrey Pines, scoring 15 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. It was the first time this season that Kail scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Zach Jackson, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
This is the second loss in a row for El Camino and nudges their season record down to 14-13. As for Torrey Pines, they have been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season.
El Camino will be playing in front of their home fans against Carlsbad at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Carlsbad's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 16 matchups. As for Torrey Pines, they will head out on the road to challenge La Costa Canyon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Torrey Pines focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up five on Tuesday.
