The Little Rock Christian Academy Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Van Buren Pointers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Little Rock Christian Academy has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 396 points over their last eight games.
Two weeks ago, Little Rock Christian Academy faced Greenwood in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Little Rock Christian Academy lost to Greenwood on the road by a decisive 56-39 margin. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Little Rock Christian Academy's loss came about despite a quality game from Walker White, who rushed for 85 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries, and also threw for 288 yards and a touchdown. Tristian Watson was another key contributor, picking up 117 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Van Buren walked away with it. Everything went their way against West Memphis on Friday as Van Buren made off with a 55-32 win. The result was nothing new for Van Buren, who have now won four contests by 21 points or more so far this season.
Cameron Keller and Bryce Perkins were among the main playmakers for Van Buren as the former gained 265 total yards and three touchdowns and the latter threw for 361 yards and four touchdowns. Keller was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 57 yards. The team also got some help courtesy of Trenton Cooley, who picked up 132 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Van Buren's defensive line and their three sacks. In that department, Alex Welborn was the leader with two sacks.
Greenwood's win bumped their season record to 10-0 while Little Rock Christian Academy's loss dropped theirs to 8-2.
We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as Little Rock Christian Academy and Van Buren have no problem gaining yardage. Little Rock Christian Academy has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 416.2 total yards per game. However, it's not like Van Buren struggles in that department as they've been averaging 373.6 per game.
