Columbia Independent has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They and Christian Fellowship will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Columbia Independent comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 24 points in their last three games, a trend the squad is of course eager to reverse.
Last Thursday, Columbia Independent had to suffer through a rough 65-16 loss at the hands of the Lions. Columbia Independent has not had much luck with the Lions recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Meanwhile, Christian Fellowship strolled past the with points to spare on Friday, taking the game 47-29. The victory was just what Christian Fellowship needed coming off of a 53-30 defeat in their prior match.
Christian Fellowship relied on the efforts of Kylie Babich, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Brooke Grathwohl, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 13 rebounds. Grathwohl continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Ariya Barton was another key contributor, scoring six points along with nine rebounds and eight assists.
Columbia Independent dropped their record down to 0-9 with that defeat, which was their fifth straight at home. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 15.8 points per game. As for Christian Fellowship, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-6 record this season.
Columbia Independent was dealt a bruising 52-17 defeat at the hands of the in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Columbia Independent was down 32-9.
