After a string of four wins, Salem Sayers Baptist Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were dealt a 59-26 defeat at the hands of Lifegate Christian. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Salem Sayers Baptist Academy has scored all season.
Anelyna Cavazos was her usual excellent self, scoring 28 points along with nine rebounds and seven steals for Lifegate Christian. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cavazos has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Elena Mendez, who scored six points along with 18 rebounds and six steals.
Salem Sayers Baptist Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-1. As for Lifegate Christian, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 14-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem Sayers Baptist Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Founders Classical Academy at 5:30 p.m. on January 26th. As for Lifegate Christian, they will head out on the road to challenge Tribe W at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
