Softball Recap: Enterprise Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Win

Enterprise had already won seven in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.7 runs) and they went ahead and made it eight on Saturday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Pelham Panthers a 9-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 19 games by six runs or more so far this season.

Graycie Harrison looked comfortable as she tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than one walk in nine consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Josie Thompson, who fired off two home runs and five RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in March. Another player making a difference was Addie Reagan, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Enterprise hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in four consecutive contests.

Enterprise's record now sits at 30-7-1. As for Pelham, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-16.

Enterprise wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Maplesville on the 18th. As for Pelham, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Homewood at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Patriots' pitching crew has only allowed 2.2 runs per game this season, so the Panthers' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
