2A-2 Region II District 5 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Jacksboro moved up to 556 from 692 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in 2A-2 Region II District 5. The Tigers climbed the ranks as a result of a 27-20 win over Lindsay.
Nocona extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Valley View, 24-8. The victory was the fifth in a row for the Nocona.
Nocona's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Hayden Hill threw for 91 and two touchdowns and Edward Cardoza had 35 yards receiving. On the ground Tate Fenoglio chipped in 187 yards.
Nocona's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Nocona feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Hill has thrown for 337 yards and five touchdowns this season, while Cardoza has 14 catches for 244 yards. Fenoglio leads the league in rushing with 894 yards.
Henrietta and S & S Consolidated played the most hotly contested game in 2A-2 Region II District 5 this week, with Henrietta eventually emerging with a 17-14 victory.
