Basketball Recap: Salem Makes It Ten in a Row at Home

Salem was handed a heart-breaking three-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Jefferson Forest on Tuesday. The Salem Spartans blew past the Jefferson Forest Cavaliers 53-28. The Spartans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Salem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Gabby Crawley, who posted 13 points and three blocks. Crawley is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Emme Custer, who went 5 for 8 en route to 12 points and six boards.

Salem pushed their record up to 13-1 with the victory, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 30.9 points. As for Jefferson Forest, they moved to 7-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salem will square off against Cave Spring at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Jefferson Forest, they will face off against Liberty Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
