The West Prairie Cyclones's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their seventh straight loss. They took a hard 63-47 fall against Rushville-Industry. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Prairie in their matchups with Rushville-Industry: they've now lost three in a row.
Despite the defeat, West Prairie saw an underclassman step up: Braden Coplan scored 26 points. That was a full 55.3% of West Prairie's points, marking the 11th time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Matt Whitman, who scored nine points.
West Prairie dropped their record down to 3-22 with that loss, which was their 15th straight at home dating back to last season. As for Rushville-Industry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-14 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. West Prairie won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Havana at 7:30 p.m. on February 7th. As for Rushville-Industry, they will head out on the road to challenge Quincy Notre Dame at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
