Basketball Recap: Sullivan Sets Scoring Season-High Against Robinson

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Sullivan). They took down the Robinson Maroons 73-56 on Thursday. Given the Golden Arrows' advantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 118th in Indiana, while the Maroons are ranked 621st in Illinois), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Sullivan's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cooper Bock led the charge by going 7 of 9 en route to 15 points along with four blocks and three steals. The contest was Bock's third in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Paul Ridgway, who went 7 for 13 on his way to 19 points and five steals.

Sullivan was working as a unit and finished the game with 16 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Several Maroons players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Blake Green, who went 6 of 7 en route to 20 points in addition to seven boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cruz Dunlap, who almost dropped a double-double on nine points and 13 rebounds.

Sullivan's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-6. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 56.0 points per game. As for Robinson, they are on a seven-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Sullivan has already played their next match, a 64-23 victory against White River Valley on the 25th. As for Robinson, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 78-42 loss against Richland County on the 25th.
