Basketball Recap: Hardin Northern Takes a Loss

Hardin Northern lost against Arlington back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Hardin Northern Polar Bears were dealt a 72-36 loss at the hands of the Arlington Red Devils. While losing is never fun, the Polar Bears can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 675th, while the Red Devils are ranked 127th).

Defeat or not, Hardin Northern got some senior leadership from Xander Wilson and Mason Stewart. Wilson went 7 of 17 on his way to 20 points and six boards, while Stewart posted four points. Stewart is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played.

Hardin Northern dropped their record down to 6-13 with the loss, which was their fifth straight at home. As for Arlington, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 14-3.

Hardin Northern will venture away from home to square off against Temple Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Arlington, they will host Waynesfield-Goshen at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Arlington has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
