Basketball Game Preview: Northwest Halifax Vikings vs. Bunn Wildcats

Northwest Halifax is 4-0 against Bunn since December of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Northwest Halifax Vikings will look to defend their home court against the Bunn Wildcats at 7:30 p.m. Northwest Halifax has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.

Northwest Halifax is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They walked away with a 67-58 victory over Southeast Halifax on Friday. The team's explosion on offense also rewarded the Vikings with their most commanding win of the season.

TrAli Hyman and Daveion Richardson were among the main playmakers for Northwest Halifax as the former dropped a double-double on 17 points and ten boards and the latter dropped a double-double on 18 points and 11 boards. That's the most points Richardson has posted since back in January. Another player making a difference was Javon Kee, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 11 rebounds.

Northwest Halifax smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 20 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Bunn was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Wednesday as they fell 50-45 to Rocky Mount. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Bunn's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Northwest Halifax, their win was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-3 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Northwest Halifax was able to grind out a solid victory over Bunn when the teams last played back in December of 2022, winning 56-45. One of the biggest obstacles trying to stand in the way of that victory was Bunn's Jacob Herron, who went 6 of 11 on his way to 22 points.
