The Pomona Panthers had to kick off their season on the road on Monday, but they showed no ill effects. They came out on top against Skyview by a score of 59-47. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Pomona also won the last time the pair played back in November of 2022.
Leading Pomona to victory were Dj Hawkins and Joshua James. Hawkins scored 20 points along with 3 steals, while James scored 20 points along with 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Anthony Armenta, who scored 7 points along with 3 steals.
Pomona's victory bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Skyview, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Pomona will square off against Gateway at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Skyview won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Northfield at 7:00 p.m. on November 28th.
