Pontiac has gone a perfect 3-0 against Dwight recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Wednesday. The Indians will take on the Trojans at 4:30 p.m. Pontiac's pitching crew has only allowed 2.3 runs per game this season, so Dwight's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Pontiac barely beat Monticello the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Indians' pitcher stepped up to hand the Sages a 10-0 shutout on Monday. The result was nothing new for the Indians, who have now won six games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Elena Krause was a major factor no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Those three stolen bases gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, India Mattingly and Olivia Lindsay did most of the damage at the plate: Mattingly went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Lindsay went 3-for-4 with four RBI. Those three hits gave Lindsay a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Payton Rogers, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one double.
Pontiac always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .562. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Monticello only posted an OBP of .208.
Meanwhile, Dwight came into Tuesday's match having lost three straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They walked away with a 6-2 victory over Midland on Tuesday.
Madi Ely spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up seven Ks.
On the hitting side, Dwight saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mia Franklin, who went 1-for-2 with one run and one RBI. Another was Averi Jury, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run.
Pontiac's win bumped their record up to 13-5. As for Dwight, their victory bumped their record up to 5-13.
Pontiac took their win against Dwight when the teams last played back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 11-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Indians since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
