In what's become a running theme this season, the Victory Christian Academy Patriots gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They breezed by St. Paul's Prep at home to the tune of 68-31. The win was nothing new for Victory Christian Academy as they're now sitting on six straight.
Victory Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Ainsley Hawk led the charge by dropping a double-double on 15 points and ten rebounds. Hawk hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Landree Leake, who scored 13 points along with seven steals and six rebounds.
Despite the loss, St. Paul's Prep still got an impressive performance from Rowen Hughes, who scored 15 points along with two steals. That was a full 48.4% of St. Paul's Prep's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Victory Christian Academy pushed their record up to 20-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.4 points per game. As for St. Paul's Prep, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-9.
Victory Christian Academy will head out on the road to challenge Community Christian at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Community Christian focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 last Tuesday. As for St. Paul's Prep, they will be playing at home against Heritage Christian Academy at 6:00 a.m. on Monday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Heritage Christian Academy is ranked 1212th, while St. Paul's Prep is ranked 1223rd).
