That's the most  rushing yards  he has posted since back in November of 2023. Another player making a difference was  Dominic Morin, who picked up 82 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
 On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Mooresville's defense and their seven sacks. The heavy lifting was done by  DJ Turner and  Kamdon Gillespie, who racked up  4.5 sacks between them. With that strong performance,  Turner is now averaging an impressive 5.1  total tackles per game. Another thorn in Lake Norman's side was  Jamari Farmer, who picked up  a  sack and made 12 total tackles (4.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile, Alexander Central beat Ashe County 27-18  on Friday. The  victory made it back-to-back  wins for the Cougars.
 Alexander Central's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Wade Queen, who rushed for 47 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 97 yards and a touchdown on only seven passes.  Maurice Howell Jr. was another key player, rushing for 66 yards and a touchdown.

 Mooresville's victory was  their fifth straight at home, which  pushed their record up to 9-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 45 points. As for Alexander Central,  the  win  got them back to even at 5-5.
 Friday's   game might be decided in the on the ground. Mooresville has been unstoppable on the ground this season,  having  averaged 199.8  rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Alexander Central struggles in that department as   they've been averaging 226.9. It's looking like  Friday's  contest might have some serious battles in the trenches.
