Becker and Chisago Lakes Area are an even 4-4 against one another since April of 2021, but likely not for long. The Bulldogs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Becker will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.
The scorekeeper got an easy start on Tuesday as neither Becker nor Cambridge-Isanti made it on the board until the fifth inning. The Bulldogs narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Bluejackets 4-3.

Ethyn Cantin tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over 6.1 innings while giving up three earned runs off only two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances.
At the plate, Becker's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Hunter Pietrowski, who went 3-for-4 with one stolen base. That's the most hits Pietrowski has posted over his last ten contests. Isaac Daluge also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Becker kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. That's a new trend for them: they were averaging 4.3 hits per game earlier this season, but in their last 15 matches they've averaged 10.2.
Big Lake hit Chisago Lakes Area with a five-run fifth inning on Tuesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Wildcats fell just short of the Hornets by a score of 6-5. The Wildcats have struggled against the Hornets recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive lost meeting.
Chisago Lakes Area also got a good showing from Nathan Wehrenberg, who pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.
On the hitting side, Cole Stilp was cooking despite his team's loss, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. Another player making a difference was Carson Drury, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one double.
Becker pushed their record up to 6-5 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Chisago Lakes Area, their loss dropped their record down to 2-7.
Becker skirted past Chisago Lakes Area 10-9 when the teams last played back in May of 2024. Will the Bulldogs repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
