The Washington-Wilkes Tigers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their third straight loss. They fell 55-42 to Warren County. While losing is never fun, Washington-Wilkes can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 400th, while Warren County is ranked 155th).
Warren County's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Courtney Bray led the charge by scoring 17 points along with nine rebounds and two steals. That's the first time this season that Bray pulled down eight or more rebounds. Jailee Allen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Washington-Wilkes' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 6-9. As for Warren County, the win makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.
Coincidentally, the two teams will both be playing Greene County the next time they take the court. Warren County will head out to face Greene County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, while Washington-Wilkes will host them at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
