After a string of three wins, the Harbor Creek Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They suffered a rough 67-47 defeat at the hands of Warren. Harbor Creek found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and rack up ten fewer assists than your opponent.
Despite the loss, Harbor Creek still got an impressive performance from Braylen Wilson, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Wilson scored a full 46.8% of Harbor Creek's points, the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Mozdy, who scored ten points.
Even though they lost, Harbor Creek were working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warren to victory, but perhaps none more so than Brady Berdine, who scored 20 points. Those 20 points set a new season-high mark for him. Tommy Nyquist was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 13 assists.
Harbor Creek's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Warren, their victory was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-0.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Harbor Creek will square off against North East at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. North East presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Harbor Creek in Pennsylvania (North East is ranked 21st, while Harbor Creek is ranked 191st). As for Warren, they will head out on the road to face off against Fairview at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Fairview focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Friday.
