Fountain Central is 0-1 against Park Tudor since October of 2022 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Fountain Central Mustangs will head out on the road to face off against the Park Tudor Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Fountain Central fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They breezed by Parke Heritage on the road to the tune of 51-18. The match was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Fountain Central had established a 27 point advantage.
Fountain Central got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Owen Acton out in front who rushed for 146 yards and three touchdowns on only 11 carries. Dawson Blue also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Park Tudor put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their undefeated season alive. They claimed a resounding 65-6 win over Edinburgh on the road.
Dj (darrell) gordon continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 110 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries, while also throwing for 173 yards and three touchdowns on only 15 passes. (darrell) gordon was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 60 yards. Another player making a difference was William Harris, who gained 73 total yards and three touchdowns.
Their wins bumped Fountain Central to 6-3 and Park Tudor to 9-0.
Friday's game might be decided on the ground as these two are both standouts in the run game. Fountain Central has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 194.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Park Tudor struggles in that department as they've been even better at 200.4 per game. It's looking like Friday's game might have some serious battles in the trenches.
Fountain Central ended up a good deal behind Park Tudor when the teams last played back in October of 2022, losing 42-26. Can Fountain Central avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
