The Hilltop Lancers's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight loss. They were beaten by Sweetwater 67-30. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Hilltop of the 53-27 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in January.
Matthew Gonzales was Hilltop's leading scorer, having posted eight points.
Antonio Martinez held things down on the boards with six rebounds.
James Devin took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with three assists.
Hilltop dropped their record down to 1-24 with that loss, which was their 14th straight at home. As for Sweetwater, their win bumped their record up to 10-13.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hilltop will take on Chula Vista at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Hilltop focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 on Wednesday. As for Sweetwater, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Castle Park at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
