The Unioto Shermans came tearing into Tuesday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 39.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They came out on top against Adena by a score of 62-49. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Unioto also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2023.
Unioto found their leader in underclassman Milee Smith, who dropped a double-double on 28 points and 11 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Smith has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Amaris Betts, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 11 rebounds.
Unioto pushed their record up to 17-2 with that victory, which was their tenth straight at home. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 72.1 points per game. As for Adena, their defeat ended a 12-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 17-2.
Unioto will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneers at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. Zane Trace will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 685th, while the Shermans are ranked 63rd). As for Adena, they will be playing at home against the Redstreaks at 7:15 p.m. on Saturday.
