After two weeks on the road, Monroe is heading back home. On Saturday they take on Edison Tech/School Without Walls at 3:00 PM. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match.
Monroe have had to suffer through a three-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They made easy work of Leadership Academy/Northeast/Northwest College Prep/Vanguard last Saturday and carried off a 30-0 win. Junior Jamar Williams, who accumulated 104 passing yards and picked up 33 yards on the ground, was a major factor in Monroe's success.
Meanwhile, we expected Edison Tech/School Without Walls to have trouble with the significantly higher ranked Eastridge, and they did. Edison Tech/School Without Walls ended up on the wrong side of a painful 13-45 walloping at Eastridge's hands. This match was a close 7-6 at the break, but unfortunately for Edison Tech/School Without Walls it sure didn't stay that way.
Monroe's victory lifted them to 2-3 while Edison Tech/School Without Walls's loss dropped them down to 1-4. Edison Tech/School Without Walls's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Monroe defensive front that amassed four sacks against Leadership Academy/Northeast/Northwest College Prep/Vanguard, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
