SAN DIEGO, Calif. - After trading leads four times,
Serra (San Diego, Calif.) snatched the lead for good when
Hunter Correll thew a touchdown to
Calvin Crockett in the second quarter, paving the way for victory over
Morse (San Diego, Calif.) 35-15.
The Conquistadors were up 21-15 at the half after taking the lead on a Correll touchdown pass to Crockett in the second quarter.
Serra expanded its lead to 13 points entering the fourth quarter. SHS scored once in the quarter on a punt return touchdown by
Stephon Zackiewicz.
With the win the Conquistadors extended their winning streak to five games. Serra defeated the Cavers 35-7 last week.
SHS's most effective player was
Jahlil Johnson. The senior running back ran for two touchdowns. He has now scored four touchdowns on the season.
The Conquistadors entered the contest giving up 23.3 points per game this year.
Serra (7-2) goes up against Cathedral Catholic in a non-conference game matchup next week, while Morse (3-6) locks horns with Patrick Henry in a City game.
