Given Prince Avenue Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia football rankings (they are ranked 34th, while Social Circle is ranked 295th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Prince Avenue Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Aaron Philo led the charge by throwing for 313 yards and five touchdowns while completing 72.2% of his passes. Philo is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Connor Causby, who gained 145 total yards and three touchdowns.
Athens Christian's defeat was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-10. As for Prince Avenue Christian, their victory bumped their record up to 9-1.
Athens Christian took a serious blow against Prince Avenue Christian in their previous matchup back in November of 2021, falling 44-15. Can Athens Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
