The biggest upset of the week belonged to Riverside, who took down 401st ranked Riverside, 35-28.
Beaver extended the longest winning streak in WPIAL AA Midwestern this week by beating Lincoln, 35-13. This was the team's eighth consecutive win.
The Panthers' dynamic duo of Devin Kelosky and Aaron Tedys proved tough for New Brighton to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Kelosky threw for 198 yards and three touchdowns and Tedys had 105 yards receiving. Matt Tedys helped Riverside's passing attack out by catching four balls for 44 yards.
Beau Ewing was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 130 yards on 17 carries as the Wolverine fell to the Lions. Jared Meyers also contributed to the rushing game with 105 yards on the ground.
6-foot-0 quarterback Kelosky of Tom Liberty's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 817. He has also thrown nine touchdowns. On the ground, Lincoln's Meyers has rushed for 753 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is Craig Thompson. The New Brighton star has 14 catches for 248 yards.
The top two teams in WPIAL AA Midwestern will face off this week when first place Beaver takes on second place Aliquippa. Last week, Beaver topped Don Phillips' team, while Aliquippa bested Beaver Falls.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when the Quips take on Jeff Beltz's team. Aliquippa has allowed 29 points this season, while the Bobcats have given up 157. Michael Zmijanac's team allowed 7 points last week as it bested the Tigers.
New Brighton was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from seventh to fifth in the league. Earlier in the week, Joe Greco's team defeated the Panthers 35-28.
