Winchester Community extended their winning streak to three on Friday, bumping them up to 5-1. They walked away with a 22-14 victory over the Tri Titans. Surprisingly, this marked the Golden Falcons' fourth straight game in which the away team has come away the victor.
Aidan Weatherhead had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 181 yards and one touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry, and also picking up 46 receiving yards and one TD. He showed off some serious burst, turning on the afterburners on one carry for 58 yards. Caleb Hummel was another key player, rushing for 70 yards and one score.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Winchester Community was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 261 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 224 rushing yards in three consecutive games.
As for Tri, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3. The matchup marked their lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Several Titans players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Cooper Engle, who rushed for 74 yards and one touchdown on only eight carries.
