5A District 8 recap November 19, 2013
Zach Chitwood of Harlan County ran for the longest rushing play in 5A District 8 this season against Madison Southern last week. Chitwood scampered for 70 yards on the play and finished with 109 on the day as his team fell to the Eagles.
Perry County Central fell to Pulaski County 43-0 last week, the largest margin of any game. Tyler Fugate caught 5 passes for 86 yards in the loss.
Harlan County's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Scotty Bailey threw for 137 and 2 touchdowns and Cole Wilson had 100 yards receiving. On the ground Carson Whitehead contributed 119 yards. Chitwood helped Harlan County's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 27 yards.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, Perry County Central's Nathan Pray and Fugate have proven to be a lethal combination. 5-10 quarterback Pray has thrown for 917 yards this season, while Fugate has 33 catches for 473 yards. The Black Bears' Whitehead leads the league in rushing yards with 1,277.
Harlan County led the league in scoring this week by notching 28 points on Harlan County.
