The Bennett Tigers will face off against the Arvada Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Bennett is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Bennett duked it out with Elizabeth on Saturday. The Tigers took an 11-7 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals.

Brody Hawes made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with two triples, three RBI, and one run. He has become a key player for Bennett: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-6 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Mathis, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.
Meanwhile, Arvada waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Pirates. That's two games straight that the Bulldogs have won by exactly seven runs.
Cameron Henderson made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. That's the most strikeouts he has posted since back in May of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-3. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more stolen bases the last three times he's played.
In other batting news, Isaac Martinez was excellent, scoring three runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. Angel Martinez was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Bennett has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-7 record this season. Those losses can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Arvada, they pushed their record up to 6-3 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Monday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Bennett has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Arvada struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Bennett took their victory against Arvada in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 11-1 score. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Bulldogs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
