The Thomaston Bears will take on the Lakeview Bobcats at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Thomaston comes in on six and Lakeview on four.
On Tuesday, Thomaston got the win against Housatonic by a conclusive 15-1. Considering the Bears have won seven games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Madison Decker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She struck out 13 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and only one walk). She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Kayla Valentine was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with two runs and two RBI. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (two). Brie Beaudoin was another key player, going 1-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Lakeview came out on top against Immaculate on Tuesday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run seventh inning. The Bobcats skirted past the Mustangs 8-6.
Like Thomaston, Lakeview also got a great game from a two-way player: Analese Gilmore. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out seven batters over seven innings while giving up four earned (and two unearned) runs off seven hits. Gilmore was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Gilmore wasn't the only one making solid contact as seven players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Tatum Milanese, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI. Another was Riley Sauvageau, who went 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.
Thomaston's record now sits at 11-7-1. As for Lakeview, their record is now 12-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Thomaston has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.5 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Lakeview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Thomaston might still be hurting after the 8-1 loss they got from Lakeview in their previous matchup back in April. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
