The Highland Hawks waltzed into Friday's matchup with four straight wins but they left with five. They didn't even let Desert Ridge onto the board and left with a 12-0 win. Given Highland's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona football rankings (they are ranked fifth, while Desert Ridge is ranked 32nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Highland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kalen Fisher, who threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns on only 16 passes. Greg Toler jr was another key contributor, picking up 94 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Highland pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fourth straight at home. As for Desert Ridge, they now have a losing record at 5-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Highland will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Chandler at 7:00 p.m. on November 17th. One thing working in Chandler's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last three games. Desert Ridge will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Pinnacle at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th.
