It was a good run, but the Show Low Cougars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell 62-55 to Seton Catholic. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Despite the loss, Show Low still got an impressive performance from Preston Power, who scored 28 points. The game was Power's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Thomas Ellsworth, who scored 13 points.
It was another big night for Luke Padilla, who scored 20 points along with seven assists for Seton Catholic. The team also got some help courtesy of Julian Garcia, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 13 rebounds.
Show Low's loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 15-4. As for Seton Catholic, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Show Low's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Payson at 7:30 p.m. on January 9th. Payson has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 221 points over their last three matchups. As for Seton Catholic, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Saguaro at 7:00 p.m.
