After a string of nine wins dating back to last season, The Needville Bluejays''s good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a serious blow against Bay City, falling 50-17. Needville was already down big by the end of the third quarter and they stayed that way after failing to score in the fourth.
Although Needville took the loss, they still got scores from Austin Anderson and Da'Shawn Burton.
Jada Andrews continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines for Bay City, rushing for 306 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.9 yards per carry, and also catching a touchdown. Andrews was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 58 yards. Another player making a difference was Alex Estrada, who threw for 207 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Needville's defeat dropped their record down to 8-1. As for Bay City, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Iowa Colony the next time they take the field. Bay City will host Iowa Colony at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Needville will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on November 3rd.
